Both materials are 100% natural fibers and have excellent moisture wicking properties. They are both fully compostable.
The jute worm blankets are more coarse and may have a slightly unpleasant smell in the first few days of use. This is due to a binding agent to hold the fibers together. The odor will subside after a few days. The jute worm blankets are made in India will tend to last a little longer than the hemp blankets.
The hemp blankets are softer, more pleasant to the touch and do not emit the same odor that the jute blanket does. They have a latex-like backing that is also made from hemp which helps extend the life of the blanket. The hemp Urban Worm Blankets are made in Canada and will break down a little more quickly than the jute.
